“I keep six honest-serving men, They taught me all I knew.
Their names are What and Why and When, and How and Where and Who.”

-Rudyard Kipling

The spot provides a clear answer for Mr. Where. It offers far less to the other honest-serving men. The spot would disagree but I must insist... although, I suppose it's possible the spot assumes we can easily see all the clues it knows. To be fair, there are many. It's just tricky, that's all. It seems a disclaimer of sorts is in order.

Despite Mr. Where's affinity for any spot we happen to find ourself on, he can be less than forthcoming. He doesn't like to share until he has to and then he won't stop. Go figure. Mr. Why is very generous with suggestions but stubbornly stingy with actual reasons. Mr. How is not much better. They seem to feed off of each other. They all do really. These pages can attest to that. Mr. When is somewhat agreeable but not as punctual as one might imagine, especially when he gets to reminiscing. Mr. Who is always more than willing to share but is a bit of a show-off and at times, unreliable. And as much as I respect Mr. What, he does tend to ramble. Still, I can't complain, far from it. This endeavor could not exist without the gracious assistance of our honest-serving men.

These pages will attempt to serve the six gentlemen with all the sleuthing we can muster but be forewarned, they ask tough questions. It can be a mess if they don't agree and that's the rub. The friendly bickering is legendary and frustrating but it is also absolutely crucial when shopping for accuracy. It's healthy. And the debates are friendly, they welcome each other with open charms. It's not that they want to be contentious, they just have a whole lot to sort out. Perhaps Cajun philosopher Dr. John described it best with his introspective treatise reflecting upon the classic struggle between Mr. Where and Mr. When entitled, "Right Place Wrong Time". Refried confusion indeed.

Informed opinions, curiosity-driven possibilities, truths and even some hoaxes repeated relentlessly until true, can all get thrown into the same pot despite our best efforts. They simmer. It smells really good but we are no longer certain about the exact ingredients nor their proportions. While we cannot in good faith represent this gumbo as 100% nutritious, some of the spicier ingredients do add to the experience and it is delicious. Please help yourself.

As to the spot, at least it's eager to share in the best way it knows how which is more than can be said for Father Time and Mother Nature. They refuse to give an inch. Fortunately for us we have a loyal ally, our constant companion, Mr. Wonder. He's as invested as we allow, fueled by passion and persistent enough to coax the honest-serving men to focus and see eye to eye. If you haven't met, please allow me to introduce you. His friends call him Irving.

Meet the families who have graced our spot's embrace through the years. The navigation for this endeavor is circular. Mr. Who leads the way.
